Today, we are respectfully asking you — and every family in The Sanibel School — to please make a critical contribution to support the programs and services at your child’s award-winning school.
We would like every family to become a member of both the Parent Teacher Association and the Sanibel School Fund by making a minimum combined contribution of $50 to your school.
We know we are living through unusual times, and asking for a membership fee or donation may seem like a bad idea. However, our school is in need, and we are looking to our families first.
Because of our small size, the budget provided by the school district does not provide robust funding to support many special programs that our children need. Private donations and membership fees raised by the PTA and the Fund throughout the years have given our teachers and staff the ability to do more, to provide a better education, to establish stronger programs.
Because of the pandemic, both the PTA and the Fund are behind on fundraising for the
year. That means programs and services funded by private donations could be in jeopardy in the coming years. This includes our STEM program, teacher appreciation initiatives, the “Leader in Me” curriculum, and student activities and awards, as well as thousands of dollars worth of supplies, books and software subscriptions your child relies on every day.
Our community on the islands is historically very generous, and with events this year like the Seahorse Festival and the Blue Ribbon Golf Classic, we will once again seek the support of our friends and neighbors around Sanibel and Captiva.
Before we reach out to them, it’s only right for us to start within, and ask you first to consider how you might be able to support our school financially. All funds raised are administered and granted back to the school by the PTA and the Fund. Both groups are led by parents, and we hope you will get involved with them both!

Sincerely, The Sanibel School Parent Teacher Association and The Sanibel School Fund
